Hi, I’m James Roughton, Safety Professional with a MS in Safety, a CSP, CRSP, CHMM, CIT, CET, and Six Sigma Black Belt. Although I am a successful Senior Safety Manager having worked for a large international firm, I found myself unfulfilled. The more my work pressures compounded, the further I got away from my own passion, what I really love to do, and have been very successful at, mentoring people, one on one to help them achieve their goals and objectives.

I have a PROVEN TRACK RECORD that can help you jump start your passion quickly. Once you reshape the direction and quality of your goals and objectives, you take power back into your life. You are able to take charge of your life’s dreams. Loving what you do can change your life forever!

I developed eMeetingplace and OhByTheWay to help the safety professional improve their daily work activities by providing valuable resources that I have used in the past and I feel are helpful to new and beginning production managers, safety professionals, and other disciplines. I started developing websites in 1997 to help with the overwhelming prospect of starting a new job and not having a clue about what to do and how to best learn the rules and regulations that would impact effectiveness and success. I am now developing another web site, DrupalUS that will help individuals understand the Web 2.0 Technology in action.

I have experience in a wide range and variety of endeavors. Prior to the Safety profession, I was an electronic technician, production line manager, quality control specialist, and had many opportunities to work in diverse high-hazard manufacturing environments. Over the past 15 years, I have specialized in developing safety management systems and processes which have initiated fundamental changes in “safety” mindset of organizations that have resulted in improved safety cultures, reduced work-related injuries and reduced the associated cost of injuries.

I have found through this experience that four key elements in a Safety Management System are essential: Management Commitment and Leadership, Roles and Responsibilities, Employee Participation, and Hazard Recognition and Analysis. These four elements when successfully implemented help facilities transform a safety program from being mere compliance driven with constant maintenance to a safety process that will stand the test of time.

My experiences and expertise are directly applicable to helping others. Top rated athletes, movie stars, and famous singers have a mentor and a coach who helps keep them on the right track. These professions rely on an objective party to listen and provide a real-live perspective. Why not you?
